Regular Season Round 3: Rapla - TLU/Kalev 76-97

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Rapla (1-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by TLU/Kalev (2-1) 97-76. The game was mostly controlled by TLU/Kalev. Rapla managed to win second period 26-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TLU/Kalev shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. It was a great evening for American guard Tom Droney (197-91, college: Davidson) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Kaido Saks (207-86, agency: Blacktop Management) helped adding 21 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). The best for the losing side was American guard Devin Brooks (186-92, college: Creighton) with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import power forward Will Artino (211-92, college: Creighton) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five TLU/Kalev and four Rapla players scored in double figures. Rapla's coach Aivar Kuusmaa gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. TLU/Kalev are looking forward to face TU/Rock in Tartu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rapla will play on the road against Parnu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
