Regular Season Round 4: UCC Demons - UL Eagles 102-79

The game between fourth ranked UCC Demons (3-1) and 5th ranked UL Eagles (2-2) in Cork on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. UCC Demons outscored guests from Limerick 102-79. UCC Demons dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to UL Eagles' 38. UCC Demons forced 28 UL Eagles turnovers. It was a very good performance for international point guard Kyle Hosford (175-89) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Lehmon Colbert (198-88, college: Jacksonville) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four UCC Demons players scored in double figures. American guard Staats Battle (198-93, college: N.Carolina St.) replied with 23 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Robert Lynch (193-78) added 14 points in the effort for UL Eagles. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UCC Demons have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with UCD Marian and Killester. Loser UL Eagles keep the fifth position with two games lost. UCC Demons will face Moycullen (#8) in Galway in the next round where they are favorite. UL Eagles will play on the road against Eanna in Dublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
