Very predictable result when Maccabi Rishon (3-0) won against Maccabi K/G (1-2) in Rishon Le-Zion 84-74 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 53-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Maccabi Rishon forced 19 Maccabi K/G turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international swingman Shawn Dawson (196-93) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB) came up with 21 points and 4 assists and the former international point guard Meir Tapiro (192-75, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Maccabi K/G in the defeat. Maccabi Rishon will meet Bnei Hasharon (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi K/G will play against Maccabi Haifa (#3) and hope to win that game.
