Regular Season Round 7: H-Sirenos - Utena 40-62
Date: October 30, 2015
Another exciting game was between second ranked Utena and 3rd placed Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas where Utena (4-1) crushed Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (3-2) on the road with 22-point difference 62-40. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Utena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Marina Solopova (180-90) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Rita Milieskiene (175-78) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Forward Akvile Baronenaite (185-93) answered with 12 points and Kornelija Balciunaite (176-81) added 2 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Utena have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kibirkstis-VICI and Suduva. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Utena will play against bottom-ranked Siauliai-Univ. (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas will play against the league's leader Suduva in Marijampole and hopes to get back on the winning track.
