Regular Season Round 6: Naron - Chantada 62-71

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Chantada (1-0) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Naron (0-2) 71-62 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Naron won third quarter 20-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chantada made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Naron was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Carlos Noguerol (186-93) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Jacobo De Benito (180-90) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Chantada players scored in double figures. British forward Rowell Graham (197-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Brantley Osborne (193-91, college: Shepherd) added 18 points in the effort for Naron. Chantada keeps a position of Group A-B leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Naron still closes the standings with two games lost. Chantada will face league's leader Agustinos-Eras in Leon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Naron will play at home against San Juan (#5) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
