Regular Season Round 7: MMCITE Brno - Usti n/Labem 72-83

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked BK Usti nad Labem and 10th ranked MMCITE Brno had identical 1-4 record. But MMCITE Brno was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Usti nad Labem 83-72 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by BK Usti nad Labem. MMCITE Brno managed to win second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely MMCITE Brno outrebounded BK Usti nad Labem 47-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Ladislav Pecka (197-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. The former international point guard Michal Carnecky (184-85) helped adding 18 points and 5 assists. At the losing side American guard Andell Cumberbatch (196, college: St.Bonaventure) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Michal Norwa (202-83) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MMCITE Brno's coach Tomas Petivlas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BK Usti nad Labem (2-4) moved-up to ninth place. Loser MMCITE Brno dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. They share it with USK Praha. BK Usti nad Labem will meet at home higher ranked CEZ Nymburk (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MMCITE Brno will play against BK Pardubice (#4) and hope to win that game.
