Regular Season Round 7: Berck - Maurienne 58-61

A very close game took place in Berck between Aix-Maurienne and Berck. Sixth ranked Aix-Maurienne (5-2) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Berck (3-4). Aix-Maurienne managed to escape with a 3-point win 61-58 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Berck. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 21-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Berck outrebounded Aix-Maurienne 41-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. Point guard Aurelien Rigaux (176-88) helped adding 15 points. At the losing side American power forward Ron Anderson (205-89, college: S.Florida, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and guard Simon Cretaux (190-89) scored 16 points. Aix-Maurienne moved-up to fourth place, which they share with St Vallier. Newly promoted Berck dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Aix-Maurienne will meet at home Angers BC (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Berck will play against the league's second-placed ADA Blois and hope to secure a win.
