Regular Season Round 1: TianJin S. - Shanxi Zh. 114-106

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Shanxi Zhongyu (0-1) in Tianjin on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by TianJin Steel (1-0) 114-106. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 43-32 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: Long Beach St.) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 8 assists. Forward Jason Maxiell (201-83, college: Cincinnati) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. Guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) answered with 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and power forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) added 24 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Shanxi Zhongyu. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TianJin Steel is looking forward to face North Control (#17) in Beijing in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Shanxi Zhongyu will play at home against Shandong Bulls (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
