Regular Season Round 3: Hitech - Mono Vampire 80-74

Hitech delivered the second consecutive win on Wednesday night. This time they beat Mono Vampire (0-2) 80-74 in Bangkok. Mono Vampire was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 25-15 charge of Hitech, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hitech made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was American power forward Christien Charles (216-81, college: Villanova) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 blocks. His fellow American import power forward Steve Thomas (204-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 18 rebounds. Four Hitech players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Ratdech Kruatiwa (191-85) who recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Darongpan Apiromvilaichai (185-85) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitech will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mono Vampire will play on the road against Singapore Slingers and hopes to get finally their first victory.
