Regular Season Round 9: Suduva-Mantinga - Palanga 106-67

The game between Top Four teams took place in Marijampole. Second ranked host Suduva-Mantinga (8-1) smashed 3rd placed Palanga (6-3) 106-67. The game without a history. Suduva-Mantinga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Palanga's 20. They outrebounded Palanga 51-20 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Suduva-Mantinga looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Paulius Vaitiekunas (204-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Suduva-Mantinga's coach Marius Kiltinavicius felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mindaugas Reminas (187-86) who recorded 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and forward Povilas Sakinis (199-80) added 13 points respectively. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Suduva-Mantinga. They used an opportunity after Mazeikiai lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Palanga keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Vytis and Telsiai. Suduva-Mantinga will meet Rasai (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Palanga will play against Silute (#8) and hope to secure a win.
