Regular Season Round 9: Nafta-Uni. - Petrochema 84-86

A very interesting game took place in Klaipeda. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked Nafta-Uni. (3-6) to seventh ranked Petrochema (5-4) 86-84 on Friday evening. Nafta-Uni. was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 19-14 third quarter run of Petrochema. 26 personal fouls committed by Nafta-Uni. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. Forward Karolis Sarukas (198-95) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Petrochema's coach Kestutis Narusevicius allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. point guard Mindaugas Stasys (180-86) answered with 22 points and forward Rytis Biliartas (200-91) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Nafta-Uni.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Petrochema moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Zalgiris II. Nafta-Uni. at the other side keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Petrochema's next round opponent will be Ezerunas-Karys (#11) in Moletai which should be theoretically an easy game. Nafta-Uni. will play on the road against Telsiai in Telsiu and hope to win that game.
