The game had a very big importance for second-ranked BK Loko Plzen as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A. BK Loko Plzen smashed 9th ranked Basket Kosice at home 89-66. BK Loko Plzen dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Basket Kosice's 32 and made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. BK Loko Plzen forced 19 Basket Kosice turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Vaclav Honomichl (186-92) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and power forward Jaroslav Kovanda (203-82) who added 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Swingman Jan Nekolny (192-91) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jakub Zavadil (205-85) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Newly promoted Basket Kosice keeps the ninth place with five games lost. Basket Kosice will play next round against strong Sparta Praha trying to get back on the winning streak. BK Loko Plzen will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Nymburk B on the road.
