Regular Season Round 8: Hogsbo - Lobas 81-79

Tenth-ranked Lobas (2-6) made lots of trouble for top-ranked Hogsbo (9-0) in Goteborg on Saturday. Hogsbo managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 29-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Hogsbo looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward R.J. Slawson (206-92, college: Jacksonville) who scored 26 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Jonas Minges (174-93) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Hogsbo's coach Jonas Fredrikson used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Jesper Wennerholm (188-96) produced 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and center Robert Nilsson (201-96) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Lobas players scored in double figures. Hogsbo have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Newly promoted Hogsbo maintains first position with 9-0 record. Lobas lost fourth consecutive game. Lobas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the tenth place with six games lost. Hogsbo are looking forward to face league's second-placed IK Eos in Lund in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lobas will play at home against Trelleborg (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
