Regular Season Round 4: Saigon H. - KL Dragons 92-100 OT

Vietnamese Saigon Heat (#5) forced the game against Malaysian KL Dragons (#2) into an overtime, but lost by eight points 92-100 on Saturday night. The game took place in Saigon. But the guests from Kuala Lumpur were better at the end. Saigon Heat was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 26-25 charge of KL Dragons, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-7. KL Dragons forced 19 Saigon Heat turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Reggie Johnson (208-89, college: Miami, FL, agency: Three Eye Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds. Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-91, college: St.Bonaventure) contributed with 30 points and 4 steals for the winners. KL Dragons' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) replied with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds and his fellow American import center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) added 16 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks in the effort for Saigon Heat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KL Dragons (2-0) keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hitech. Saigon Heat at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. KL Dragons will face Singapore Slingers (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Saigon Heat will play against Mono Vampire and hopes to get finally their first victory.
