Carolina upset Morovis on the road to gain 2-0 lead in the semis. Montaneras were ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 21-11 charge of Gigantes, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 19 Montaneras turnovers. The former international forward Yolanda Jones (184-84, college: La-Lafayette) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. The former international guard Carla Cortijo (172-87, college: Texas, agency: Gamble Sports Management) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Gigantes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Tamera Young (188-86, college: JMU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and the former international point guard Pamela Rosado (165-86) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Montaneras.
