Regular Season Round 8: Boras II - Brahe Basket 115-55

Very expected game when 12th ranked Brahe Basket (1-5) was rolled over on the road by seventh ranked Boras II (3-3) 115-55 on Sunday. The game without a history. Boras II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Brahe Basket to just 6 points in second quarter. Boras II dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Brahe Basket's 28. Boras II forced 28 Brahe Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 57-24 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Brahe Basket's players. The best player for the winners was point guard Emil Lundstedt (175-94) who had a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 11 assists. Forward John Brandmark (200-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Boras II players scored in double figures. Vahe Gazigian produced 13 points and Jordanian forward Ali Mamoun (185-83) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Boras II moved-up to sixth place, which they share with KFUM Fryshuset. Loser Brahe Basket dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Boras II will face RIG Mark (#11) in Kinna in the next round where they are favorite. Brahe Basket will play on the road against Eskilstuna and hope to win that game.
