Regular Season Round 9: MMCITE Brno - Svitavy 82-70

Bottom-ranked MMCITE Brno managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of three consecutive loses. This time they won against fourth-ranked Basketbal Svitavy 82-70. It looked good early as Basketbal Svitavy took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then MMCITE Brno had a 23-20 second period charge getting the lead and Basketbal Svitavy was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-82. MMCITE Brno dominated on the defensive end, holding Basketbal Svitavy to just 6 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Basketbal Svitavy's 30. It was a good game for American center Paul Egwuonwu (206-91, college: Montana St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Ivo Prachar (208-82) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga, agency: HMS) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds and Canadian point guard Jahmal Jones (183-91) added 26 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for Basketbal Svitavy. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. MMCITE Brno (2-6) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with USK Praha. Basketbal Svitavy lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with four games lost. MMCITE Brno's next round opponent will be higher ranked BK Kolin (#6) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Basketbal Svitavy will play against CEZ Nymburk and hope to win that game.
