Regular Season Round 5: Anwil - Asseco 82-76

Date: November 9, 2015
The game between third ranked Asseco (4-2) and sixth ranked Anwil (4-1) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Asseco was defeated by Anwil in a tough game in Wloclawek 76-82. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-16. But Asseco won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anwil looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Czech swingman David Jelinek (196-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international Piotr Stelmach (205-84, college: Mississippi St., agency: BeoExcell) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American point guard Anthony Hickey (180-92, college: Oklahoma St.) answered with 21 points and 6 assists and the former international Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz (201-79) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Asseco. Asseco's coach Tane Spasev rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Anwil moved-up to fourth place. Asseco at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Rosa Radom. Anwil are looking forward to face AZS Koszalin (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Asseco will have a break next round.
