Regular Season Round 4: Guangsha L. - Xinjiang FT 116-118

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (3-1) in Hangzhou on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by Xinjiang Flying Tige (4-0) 118-116. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-21. But Zhejiang Guangsha Lions won second period 27-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Xinjiang Flying Tige made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) replied with 28 points and 7 assists and Taiwanese guard Chih-Chieh Lin (192-82) added 25 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Xinjiang Flying Tige have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Liaoning H. and Sichuan BW. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions at the other side dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with Guangdong ST and Shandong FB. Xinjiang Flying Tige is looking forward to face Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#10) in Hangzhou in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play on the road against Jiangsu Dragons (#20) in Nanjing and are hoping to win this game.
