Regular Season Round 6: Maccabi K/G - Hapoel Eilat 75-104
Date: November 12, 2015
Bottom-ranked Hapoel Eilat managed to get a second victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Thursday night. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked Maccabi K/G in Kiryat Gat 104-75. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 29-point difference suggests that Hapoel Eilat is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Eilat. Maccabi K/G managed to win fourth quarter 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Eilat shot 63.6 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a good game for American Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: Comsport) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import Khalif Wyatt (193-91, college: Temple) contributed with 15 points and 8 assists for the winners. Five Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. American point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB) replied with 17 points and the former international point guard Meir Tapiro (192-75, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 5 points and 9 assists in the effort for Maccabi K/G. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Eilat (2-4) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Maccabi K/G. Hapoel Eilat is looking forward to face higher ranked Bnei Hasharon (#5) in Hod Hasharon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi K/G will play on the road against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
