Regular Season Round 11: Zalgiris II - Petrochema 92-65

The game in Kaunas supposed to be also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Petrochema (6-5) played at the court of sixth ranked Zalgiris II (7-4). Zalgiris II smashed Petrochema 92-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Petrochema. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris II. Petrochema was better in third quarter 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zalgiris II dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Petrochema's 32. They outrebounded Petrochema 45-31 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for center Martynas Sajus (207-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Regimantas Miniotas (206-96) helped adding 12 points and 13 rebounds. Five Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Guard Ricardas Verbickas (191-95) responded with 19 points and point guard Lukas Grabauskas (194-95) scored 10 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris II moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vytis. Petrochema at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Telsiai. Zalgiris II will play against Telsiai (#7) in Telsiu in the next round. Petrochema will play at home against Vytis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
