Regular Season Round 9: Kondori Lib. - Sokol Pisek 90-93

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked BK Kondori Liberec (0-9) was edged at home by seventh ranked Sokol Pisek (5-4) 93-90 on Friday. Sokol Pisek made 31-of-39 free shots (79.5 percent) during the game, while BK Kondori Liberec only scored eleven points from the stripe. BK Kondori Liberec was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for swingman Petr Slechta (192-95) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Guard Zdenek Kostohryz (191-89) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Sokol Pisek's coach Miroslav Janovsky allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. point guard Michal Honzak (190-94) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds and forward Jakub Nemecek (195-89) added 24 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BK Kondori Liberec. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sokol Pisek moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with Sparta Praha and Slavoj Litom. Loser BK Kondori Liberec still closes the standings with nine games lost. Sokol Pisek will face Basket Kosice (#9) on the road in the next round. BK Kondori Liberec will play against Sokol Prazky and hopes to get finally their first victory.
