Regular Season Round 9: MMCITE Brno 2 - Pardubice 82-75

There was an upset when 4th placed Pardubice (4-4) lost on the road to ninth ranked MMCITE Brno 2 (3-5) 82-75 on Friday. MMCITE Brno 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Pardubice's 32. They outrebounded Pardubice 51-35 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for swingman Marian Hrabovsky (198-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Martin Vyroubal (195-96) contributed with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Tomas Soukal (202-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Josef Prihonsky (189-93) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Pardubice. MMCITE Brno 2 moved-up to eighth place in Group B. Pardubice lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. MMCITE Brno 2 will face higher ranked Sokol Slapnice (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pardubice will play against the league's leader Sokol Hradec Kralove where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
