Regular Season Round 8: Estela - La Fecha 86-57
Date: November 14, 2015
Not a big story in a game in Santander where bottom-ranked La Fecha (0-4) was rolled over by fourth ranked Estela (3-1) 86-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Estela led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 La Fecha turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Estela especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by La Fecha's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Adria Baiget (190-89) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists and American guard Riley Stockton (193, college: Seattle Pacific) who added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Estela players scored in double figures. Guard Millan Lopez (185-94) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Jorge Martinez scored 9 points and 5 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Estela have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group A-A, which they share with Easo and Ardoi. Newly promoted La Fecha still closes the standings with four games lost. Estela's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santander to the arena Cantbasket.
