There was a surprise result when fifth ranked Cordoba (3-1) edged at home top-ranked Coin (3-1) 74-73 on Saturday. It was a key game for the top position in Group D-East. Coin was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Guinean forward Cheick Sekou Conde (203-92) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Jose Medina (185-93) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Guard Fran Robles (191-81) responded with 16 points and center Juan Vasco (200-83) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Coin's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cordoba have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group D-East leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Coin. Cordoba will face Medacbasket (#5) in Malaag in the next round. Coin will play at home against the league's second-placed Velez (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
