Everything could happen in Istanbul at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Pertevniyal and 13th ranked Mamak DSI had identical 2-4 record. This time Pertevniyal used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Ankara 92-79 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Pertevniyal led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Quite impressive performance for American guard Elijah Johnson (190-90, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording 31 points. Swingman Okben Ulubay (200-97) contributed with 21 points and 7 assists for the winners. Pertevniyal's coach Bilal Han Duru used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Jason Clark (188-90, college: Georgetown) answered with 25 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St.) added 10 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Mamak DSI. Pertevniyal (3-4) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Gelisim and Meliksah. Loser Mamak DSI keeps the thirteenth position with five games lost. Pertevniyal will face higher ranked Gediz (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mamak DSI will play against Meliksah (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
