Very significant was Thailand Hitech's (#2, 3-0) victory against 4th placed Filipino Pilipinas Agilas (1-2) 87-64. The game was mostly controlled by Hitech. Pilipinas Agilas managed to win fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hitech dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Pilipinas Agilas' 30. They outrebounded Pilipinas Agilas 59-42 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Christien Charles (216-81, college: Villanova) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Steve Thomas (204-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Four Hitech players scored in double figures. American forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Willie Miller (180-77) added 5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitech have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Pilipinas Agilas keep the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Saigon H.. Hitech will meet at home Saigon Heat (#5) in the next round. Pilipinas Agilas will play against Singapore Slingers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
