Regular Season Round 7: Hapoel T-A - Maccabi K/G 83-70

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv and 12th ranked Maccabi K/G had identical 2-4 record. This time Hapoel Tel-Aviv used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Kiryat Gat 83-70 on Tuesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Maccabi K/G managed to win fourth quarter 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv forced 21 Maccabi K/G turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Talor Battle (182-88, college: Penn St., agency: Two Points) fired 18 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners. The former international center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. American point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB, agency: Three Eye Sports) produced 15 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and the other American import Devin Oliver (201-92, college: Dayton) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hapoel Tel-Aviv (3-4) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Bnei Hertzeliyya and Hapoel Eilat. Newly promoted Maccabi K/G stay at the bottom position with five games lost. They share it with Ironi Nes-Ziona. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will meet Bnei Hasharon (#8) in the next round. Maccabi K/G will play against Maccabi Ashdod (#6) and hope to secure a win.
