We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked BK Usti nad Labem (3-7) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked USK Praha (4-7) 82-64 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by USK Praha. BK Usti nad Labem managed to win third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. USK Praha made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. USK Praha outrebounded BK Usti nad Labem 35-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Bosnian power forward Igor Josipovic (205-88) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Swingman Jaromir Bohacik (197-92) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Michal Carnecky (184-85) who recorded 19 points and 7 assists and forward Ladislav Pecka (197-91) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. USK Praha moved-up to eighth place. Loser BK Usti nad Labem dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. USK Praha will meet higher ranked BK Pardubice (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. BK Usti nad Labem will play against NH Ostrava (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
