Regular Season Round 6: B.Cearense - Minas 64-69

There was a minor upset in Aldeota where higher ranked SKY/Basquete (2-4) was defeated by eleventh ranked Minas (2-4) 69-64. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-16. But SKY/Basquete won second period 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (190-90, college: Canisius) notched 30 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Leonardo Demetrio (203-94) supported him with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds by the former international center Leonardo Klassmann (208-89) did not help to save the game for SKY/Basquete. The former international guard Eduardo Machado (193-82) added 15 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Minas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with B.Cearense and Universo/Vitoria. Minas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Mogi (#3) in Mogi das Cruzes and it may be quite challenging game.
