Regular Season Round 6: KL Dragons - Mono Vampire 68-64
Date: November 22, 2015
Bottom-ranked Thailand Mono Vampire (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 68-64 loss to third ranked Malaysian KL Dragons (4-1) in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Mono Vampire was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 17-11 charge of KL Dragons, which allowed them to win the game. American center Reggie Johnson (208-89, college: Miami, FL, agency: Three Eye Sports) had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-91, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in 22 points during the contest. KL Dragons' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American center Anthony McClain (213-88, college: Cincinnati) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Darongpan Apiromvilaichai (185-85) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KL Dragons moved-up to second place. Defending Thailand champion Mono Vampire still closes the standings with five games lost. KL Dragons will meet Saigon Heat (#5) on the road in the next round. Mono Vampire will play against the league's leader Hitech in Bangkok and hopes to get finally their first victory.
