Regular Season Round 8: Shandong FB - Guangdong ST 104-108

The most interesting game of round 8 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Shandong Bulls (5-3) to fourth ranked Guandong Tigers (6-2) 108-104. It ended the two-game winning streak of Shandong Bulls. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shandong Bulls won third quarter 39-33. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guandong Tigers made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international FangYu Zhu (201-83) who added 28 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) responded with 26 points and 9 rebounds and American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) scored 24 points and 9 assists. Four Guandong Tigers and five Shandong Bulls players scored in double figures. Shandong Bulls' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Guandong Tigers moved-up to third place, which they share with Liaoning H. and Guangsha L. Shandong Bulls at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Zhejiang CB. Guandong Tigers is looking forward to face Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#7) in Hangzhou in the next round. Shandong Bulls will play at home against Foshan and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
