CBA top team - Xinjiang Flying Tigers (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighteenth ranked TianJin Steel (1-7) in Tianjin 118-94. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. TianJin Steel managed to win second period 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to TianJin Steel's 46. They outrebounded TianJin Steel 47-30 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) who scored 29 points and 7 rebounds. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Nan Zhang (197-81) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Tian Lei (202) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige and five TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. TianJin Steel lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the nineteenth place with seven games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will meet at home Liaoning Hunters (#4) in the next round. TianJin Steel will play against Shanghai Sharks (#12) and hope to win that game.
