Regular Season Round 8: Bipa Basket - Dynamo 98-88

There was a small surprise in Odessa where sixth ranked Bipa Basket (4-5) defeated 4th ranked Dynamo (5-4) 98-88 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 24-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Bipa Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamo's 44. Bipa Basket had a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Chris Carter (196-92, college: Florida Tech, agency: Interperformances) who scored 25 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Forward Dmytro Khodov (203-87) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bipa Basket's coach Vadim Pudzyrei allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Anatoliy Shundel (194-93) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and center Anatolii Chelovan (206-91) added 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bipa Basket maintains sixth position with 4-5 record. Newly promoted Dynamo dropped to the third place with four games lost. Bipa Basket will face again higher ranked Dynamo (#4) in Kyiv in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dynamo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kyiv to the arena Infiz Basket.
