Regular Season Round 11: Sokol Pisek - Nymburk B 94-96

The most exciting game of round 11 in the 1Liga took place in Pisek. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Sokol Pisek (5-6) to first ranked Nymburk B (8-3) 96-94 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Nymburk B made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for forward Matej Svoboda (200-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!). Martin Kolar (194-98) helped adding 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Nymburk B players scored in double figures. Swingman Petr Slechta (192-95) responded with 28 points and 5 rebounds and guard Radek Vartecky (186-94) scored 23 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Nymburk B have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Nymburk B maintains first place in Group A with 8-3 record. Sokol Pisek at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Nymburk B are looking forward to face league's second-placed Sokol Prazky in Praha in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sokol Pisek will play on the road against BK Loko Plzen (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
