Very expected game when 11th ranked Saarlouis (2-8) were defeated at home by seventh ranked Giants (5-5) 73-61 on Saturday. American forward Jordan Talbert (198-91, college: Missouri So.) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Janek Schmidkunz (183-90, college: Amer.Internat.) chipped in 26 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Brennan McElroy (201-91, college: Indianapolis) responded with 9 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Ricky Easterling (188-83, college: Bridgewater) scored 20 points. Giants moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Weissenhorn and Fraport SKY II. Saarlouis lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Giants will face Weissenhorn Youngstars (#5) at home in the next round. Saarlouis will play against Titans (#8) in Dresden and hope to win that game.
