Regular Season Round 10: La Roda - Alcazar 69-71

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Alcazar (4-3) edged on the road 11th ranked La Roda (2-5) 71-69 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 28-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Alcazar players scored in double figures. Alcazar's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Sergio Hervas (184-92) responded with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Manuel Blazquez (185-89) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Alcazar moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Real Canoe and Torrelodones. Newly promoted La Roda dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Alcazar will face Villarrobledo (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Roda will play against Estudiantes B (#12) in Madrid and hope to win that game.
