There was no surprise when 9th ranked Volpino (4-6) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Lecco (6-4) 97-88 on Sunday. Lecco looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Volpino's players. Guard Giulio Mascherpa (185-92, agency: Interperformances) scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Giorgio Piunti (206-90, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Lecco players scored in double figures.
