Regular Season Round 11: Jiangsu D. - Bayi R. 79-76

Everything could happen in Nanjing at the game between two tied teams. Both sixteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons and 15th ranked Bayi Rockets had identical 3-7 record. This time Jiangsu Dragons used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Ningbo 79-76 on Sunday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bayi Rockets won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayi Rockets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American center Greg Oden (213-88, college: Ohio St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 24 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international forward Lin Chang (206-88, college: Long Beach St.) helped adding 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Shuo Han (196-86) responded with 18 points and 6 assists and the former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Bayi Rockets' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Jiangsu Dragons (4-7) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Bayi Rockets lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with eight games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face bottom-ranked TianJin Steel (#20) in Tianjin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bayi Rockets will play at home against Jiangsu TX (#11) and hope to win that game.
