Regular Season Round 20: Fukushima - Saitama Bron. 89-73

Very expected game when 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (1-15) were defeated on the road by fourth ranked Fukushima (11-5) 89-73 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Fukushima. Saitama Broncos was better in third quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fukushima made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Saitama Broncos were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Le'Bryan Nash (201-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Stephan Van Treese (206-90, college: Louisville, agency: Two Points) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Five Fukushima players scored in double figures. Guard Janya Masumoto (183-88) produced 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and swingman Mitsuhiro Kamezaki (189-86) added 11 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fukushima moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Saitama Broncos lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Fukushima will face league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saitama Broncos will play against Shimane Magic (#3) and hope to win that game.
