An interesting game for Tapiolan Honka (10-0) which played road game in Lappeenranta against 4th ranked Namika Lr (7-3). Top-ranked Tapiolan Honka had an easy win 78-59. The game without a history. Tapiolan Honka led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Namika Lr to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Tapiolan Honka dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Namika Lr's 20. Tapiolan Honka forced 21 Namika Lr turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. Guard Jouko Jarvinen (192-87) notched 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and swingman Panu Vertio (192-86) supported him with 13 points and 4 steals. Four Tapiolan Honka players scored in double figures. Tapiolan Honka's coach Ville Neva used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by forward Visa Tarjanne (194-93) did not help to save the game for Namika Lr. Swingman Timi Puittinen (193-94) added 12 points for lost side. Tapiolan Honka maintains first position in Division with 10-0 record. Loser Namika Lr dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Tapiolan Honka will meet at home Espoo Basket (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Namika Lr will play against Korikouvot in Kouvola and hope to secure a win.
