Regular Season Round 11: Xinjiang FT - Shandong FB 103-81

Everything went according to plan in Urumqi where leader Xinjiang Flying Tige (11-0) outscored 9th ranked Shandong Bulls (6-5) 103-81 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. Shandong Bulls was better in third quarter 35-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Shandong Bulls' 34 and made 21-of-21 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Xinjiang Flying Tige forced 21 Shandong Bulls turnovers. Shandong Bulls were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international center Qi Zhou (217-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach Qiuping Liu felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) scored 15 points and 4 steals. Five Xinjiang Flying Tige and four Shandong Bulls players scored in double figures. Xinjiang Flying Tige have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-0 record. Loser Shandong Bulls keep the ninth position with five games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Fujian (#14) in Jinjiang in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Shandong Bulls will play at home against DongGuan Leopards (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
