Regular Season Round 5: TTT Riga - Tsmoki-Minsk 76-67

The biggest surprise took place in Riga where host Latvian TTT Riga (5-0) beat league's leader Belarusian Tsmoki-Minsk (4-1) 76-67 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tsmoki-Minsk. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Tsmoki-Minsk trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 24-14 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 67-76 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was center Ieva Kulite (188-88) who scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Sydney Carter (170-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Ronsport) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Four TTT Riga players scored in double figures. TTT Riga's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Viktoriya Hasper (192-88) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ala Murauskaya (187-85) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. TTT Riga have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending Latvian champion keeps a position of league leader. Defending Belarusian champion Tsmoki-Minsk dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by TTT Riga. Tsmoki-Minsk will play next round against strong Kibirkstis-VICI trying to make it back to the top of the standings. TTT Riga will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked 1182 Tallinn on the road.
