Regular Season Round 8: Rabotnicki - Kozuv 61-62

The most exciting game of round 8 in the Prva Liga took place in Skopje. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th ranked Rabotnicki (3-5) to third ranked Kozuv (5-3) 62-61 on Monday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Rabotnicki won second period 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Brandon Penn (203-90, college: Rider, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and Bosnian-Serbian point guard Aleksej Nesovic (189-85, agency: Beo Basket) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The former international Gjorgi Cekovski (203-79) responded with 28 points and 9 rebounds and international forward Stojan Gjuroski (203-91, college: Louisiana Tech) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Kozuv have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 5-3 record having just two points less than leader Karpos Sokoli. Rabotnicki lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. Kozuv are looking forward to face Feni Industries (#4) in Kavadarci in the next round. Rabotnicki will play on the road against Best Gevgelija and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
