Regular Season Round 10: Velez - Medacbasket 57-62

Medacbasket's road win over 5th ranked Velez 62-57 was very exciting. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 62-57. Center Jose Maria Del Rio (203-91) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Senegalese Serigne Sow chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Medacbasket's coach Javier Imbroda used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side forward Javier Meras (194-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and forward Ismael Sanchez (193-83) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Medacbasket (4-2) moved-up to second place in Group D-East, which they share with Andujar and Cordoba. Velez lost third consecutive game. Velez at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Medacbasket will face league's second-placed Andujar at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Velez will play against Cordoba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
