Regular Season Round 15: Kapfenberg - Furstenfeld 90-91

The most exciting game of round 15 in the A Bundesliga took place in Kapfenberg. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (6-9) to second ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (10-5) 91-90 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 26-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Furstenfeld Panthers shot 20 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Kapfenberg Bulls only scored four points from the stripe. 24 personal fouls committed by Kapfenberg Bulls helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Croatian Marko Car (188-85) who saved his team from a defeat with 25 points and 7 assists. American power forward Gary Ware (205-83, college: Purdue, agency: Interperformances) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Furstenfeld Panthers players scored in double figures. International forward Joe Dean Shaw (199-87, college: Nevada) answered with 32 points (perfect behind the arc making all eight shots !!!) and international Filip Kramer (202-92) added 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) in the effort for Kapfenberg Bulls. Kapfenberg Bulls' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Furstenfeld Panthers maintains second place with 10-5 record having four points less than leader Gussing. Kapfenberg Bulls at the other side keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Furstenfeld Panthers are looking forward to face UBSC Graz (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kapfenberg Bulls will play against the league's leader Gussing Knights and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
