Bottom-ranked Best Gevgelija (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 80-56 loss to sixth ranked Rabotnicki (4-5) in Gevgelija on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Rabotnicki led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Rabotnicki outrebounded Best Gevgelija 45-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. International forward Stojan Gjuroski (203-91, college: Louisiana Tech) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and the former international Gjorgi Cekovski (203-79) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Ty Harris (188, college: Columbus St.) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Aleksandar Mukaetov (197-87) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rabotnicki moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kumanovo. Newly promoted Best Gevgelija still closes the standings with nine games lost. Rabotnicki will meet at home higher ranked Feni Industries (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Best Gevgelija will play against Strumica (#7) in Strumica and hopes to get finally their first victory.
