Regular Season Round 16: Usti n/Labem - Svitavy 85-65

We should mention about the upset which took place in Usti nad Labem, where higher ranked Basketbal Svitavy (7-8) was outleveled in a road game by tenth ranked BK Usti nad Labem (5-10) 85-65. The game was mostly controlled by BK Usti nad Labem. Basketbal Svitavy was better in fourth quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Basketbal Svitavy 52-32 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. BK Usti nad Labem players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Basketbal Svitavy's players. The winners were led by forward Ladislav Pecka (197-91) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Drew Barham (198-89, college: Gonzaga) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. BK Usti nad Labem's coach Martin Stavel allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by guard Tomas Teply (193-87) did not help to save the game for Basketbal Svitavy. Canadian point guard Jahmal Jones (183-91) added 17 points for lost side. Four Basketbal Svitavy players scored in double figures. BK Usti nad Labem moved-up to eighth place, which they share with J.Hradec and BK Kolin. Basketbal Svitavy at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. BK Usti nad Labem's next round opponent will be BK Kolin (#10) on the road.
