Bottom-ranked Magnitka-Univ. managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of nine consecutive losses. This time they edged seventh-ranked Elbrus Cherk. in Cherkessk 86-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Elbrus Cherk.. Magnitka-Univ. forced 23 Elbrus Cherk. turnovers. Strangely Elbrus Cherk. outrebounded Magnitka-Univ. 57-38 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Elbrus Cherk. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Yegor Tikanov (194-92) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Ivan Dudnik (196-94) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Center Pavel Dushenkov (206-93, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Armenian guard Sergey Polukhin (185-95) added 9 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Elbrus Cherk.Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Magnitka-Univ. (3-11) moved-up to eighth place. Elbrus Cherk. at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost.
