There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked MMCITE Brno (4-11) crushed at home higher ranked NH Ostrava (6-10) 69-50 on Wednesday. The game without a history. MMCITE Brno led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding NH Ostrava to just 5 points in second quarter. American guard Anthony Jones (191-84, college: Indiana Tech) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import center Paul Egwuonwu (206-91, college: Montana St.) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. MMCITE Brno's coach Tomas Petivlas used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Petr Bohacik (205-85) answered with 20 points and American forward Garret Kerr (193, college: Univ.Sciences) added 8 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for NH Ostrava. MMCITE Brno moved-up to eleventh place. Loser NH Ostrava keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. MMCITE Brno will face higher ranked BK Usti nad Labem (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
